He finished the season with a career-high .257 batting average, including 18 RBI and 18 runs scored. Joines delivered nine multi-hit contests, including three games with three hits. John's best performance came against the Stanford Cardinal on May 18 in Stanford. Joines was 3-for-4 with four RBI and one run scored to lead the Tigers to a 13-7 victory at the Sunken Diamond.<p><b>2006 (Sophomore):</b><p>Joines appeared in 16 games for the Tigers during his sophomore season, including 11 starts. Regarded as a superior defensive outfielder, John showed he was a force at the plate as well with 10 hits in 42 at-bats (.238). Joines also scored seven runs and drove in four. John's best game of the season came against Stanford on May 24 as Joines was 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored in the Tigers' 14-8 loss.<p><b>2005 (Freshman):</b><p>John was one of the Tigers' best defensive outfielders in his first season. Often used as a late inning replacement, Joines finished the season with a flawless fielding percentage and delivered one outfield assist. At the plate, Joines was 1-for-18 on the year with a double in the Tigers' 7-2 win over Hawai'i on Mar. 23.<p><b>High School:</b><p>Joines graduated from Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose, Calif. in 2004. As a member of the Monarchs, John posted a .415 average with one home run as a senior. Following the 2004 season, Joines earned All-WCL (West Catholic League) Honorable Mention. In his junior season, he helped guide Archbishop Mitty HS to the 2003 West Catholic Athletic League championship, as he hit .375 on the year.<p><b>Personal:</b><p>John Joines is the son of Dave and Jody Joines. John has one sister, Jennifer (25), who was a four-time All-American (2000-2003) for the Pacific women's volleyball team. In his fourth year at Pacific, John is a business major.<p>
